Miss Mochilera, backpacking through life / mochileando la vida!
Miss Mochilera is a bilingual (English/Spanish) multimedia storytelling platform aimed to connect female young travelers and backpacking enthusiasts around the world.
Through weekly videos that feautures young women sharing their travel and life stories, we encourage and motivate more girls to go after their dreams.
Our strong social media presence on Facebook and Instagram allows us to engage and connect with bloggers and people from all over the world.
In 2018, we hosted our first panel: "Traveling with a purpose" in which we invited international travel bloggers, such as Joy Valery, Dominican Abroad, and had over 80 attendees in NYC.
Miss Mochilera's long term goal is to become a non-profit organization that can support low-income women who wish to travel with a purpose. The project was founded by two Ecuadorian travelers: Jeannette Neto, a Peace Corps volunteer in China, and Gabriela Barzallo, an NYU student and media producer.
Besides Ecuador, and the United States, both Jeannette and Gabriela have also lived in Brazil and Argentina respectively. In 2016, when they made a backpacking trip throughout the southern region of Ecuador to promote local tourism in their country, it is when Miss Mochilero got started
